The MOH Holdings (MOHH) is the holding company of Singapore’s public healthcare entities. It also acts as a strategic partner to Ministry of Health (MOH), in ensuring the smooth implementation of healthcare strategies initiatives and policies across public healthcare institutions.

We work closely with our six public healthcare sectors, namely, Alexandra Health System, Eastern Health Alliance, Jurong Health Services, National Healthcare Group, National University Health System and Singapore Health Services to deliver affordable, accessible and quality healthcare for Singapore. Together, we strive to build a strong talent pipeline for Singapore’s public healthcare sector.

Healthcare Merit Scholarship (HMS)
The HMS is the top-tier healthcare scholarship, offered under the Ministry of Health. Highly competitive and sought-after, the HMS is awarded to outstanding individuals who are passionate about Singapore’s public healthcare sector while demonstrating academic excellence, outstanding leadership qualities and strong community spirit.

HMS scholars will be given great opportunities to be developed for key leadership appointments within the public healthcare sector.

HMS scholars will pursue their undergraduate studies in top reputable overseas and local universities in Australia, United Kingdom, Ireland and United States (for selected courses of study only).

Eligibility Criteria for Healthcare Merit Scholarship (HMS)

  • Singapore Citizens or SPRs intending to take up Singapore Citizenship
  • Keen passion to make a difference in public healthcare
  • Outstanding leadership qualities, with excellent people and communication skills
  • Outstanding GCE ‘A’level results (with at least 10 academic units), Polytechnic results or equivalent (eg IB Diploma or High School Diploma)
  • Excellent CCA records

Bond Period
4 years for local studies
6 years for overseas studies

Healthcare Merit Award
The Healthcare Merit Award (HMA) is a prestigious healthcare scholarship offered to good-performing students with strong academic track records and a passion to pursue great careers within the public healthcare sector.

HMA recipients can also look forward to great opportunities to be involved in direct patient care and management that transforms and improves the lives of fellow Singaporeans. HMA recipients will also be given opportunities to be developed for senior appointments within the public healthcare sector.

HMA recipients will pursue their undergraduate studies in top reputable overseas and local universities in Australia, United Kingdom, Ireland and United States (for selected courses of study only).

HMA recipients may also choose to pursue Allied Health Diplomas in Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Diagnostic Radiography and Radiation Therapy at Nanyang Polytechnic, before proceeding for a degree conversion programme tenable at either local or overseas universities.

Eligibility Criteria for Healthcare Merit Award (HMA)

  • Singapore Citizens or SPRs intending to take up Singapore Citizenship
  • Keen passion to make a difference in public healthcare
  • Strong people and communication skills
  • Good GCE ‘A’ level results (with at least 10 academic units), Polytechnic results or equivalent (eg IB Diploma or High School Diploma)
  • Good CCA records

Bond Period
Up to 4 years for local studies
Up to 6 years for overseas studies

Healthcare Administration Scholarship
The Healthcare Administration Scholarship (HAS), under the Singapore Industry Scholarship (SgIS) is awarded to outstanding GCE ‘A’ Level, diploma and undergraduates who wish to pursue a meaningful and challenging career as a healthcare administrator in Singapore’s public healthcare sector.

As a healthcare administrator, you will be responsible for driving key corporate functions (e.g. Human Resource, Finance), establishing healthcare standards and policies, and leading operations within our healthcare institutions.

Courses of Study

All disciplines such as Business, Accountancy, Economics, Engineering, Social Sciences, etc, except for Medicine, Dentistry and other healthcare related disciplines

SgIS scholars will pursue their undergraduate studies in local universities, namely, NUS, NTU, SMU, SUTD and SIT

Eligibility Criteria for Healthcare Administration Scholarship – Singapore Industry Scholarship (SgIS)

  • Singapore Citizens only
  • Keen passion to serve and contribute in public healthcare
  • Good GCE ‘A’ level results (with at least 10 academic units), Polytechnic results or equivalent (eg IB Diploma or High School Diploma)
  • Good CCA records and leadership achievements

Bond Period
4 year bond for studies tenable at NUS, NTU, SMU and SUTD, and 3-year bond for studies tenable at SIT.
