A*STAR awards scholarships to bright students with a keen interest and passion for science and research to pursue their undergraduate studies at globally renowned universities.

The National Science Scholarships (BS-PhD) funds undergraduate studies and PhD training in Computer & Information Sciences, Engineering & Technology, Physical Sciences, Biomedical Sciences.

Mid-term NSS (BS-PhD) awardees will be offered the same terms of support as the direct NSS (BS-PhD) scholars from the point of the award, without retrospective payment.

Requirement/Conditions

Excellent 'A' Level (preferably with 11 AUs) / IB / NUS High / Polytechnic Diploma (preferably with Merit)
Completed NS (Male)
Have keen interest in Science and research
Other nationalities should have the intention to take up Singapore citizenship

For applicants in undergraduate Year 2 & above (Mid-Term NSS(BS)):
Be Singaporean
Enrolled in a top global university, with a minimum GPA of 3.8 (US university), or a First Class Honours or equivalent
Have completed at least 2 semesters or 1 academic year of graded results at the point of scholarship application
