National Library Board

The National Library Board (NLB) nurtures Readers for Life, Learning Communities, and a Knowledgeable Nation by promoting reading, learning, and information literacy through its network of 28 libraries across Singapore, the National Library, and the National Archives of Singapore.

NLB also forges strategic partnerships that encourage awareness, appreciation, and greater discovery of Singapore’s history through its rich collections in Singapore and the region. NLB creates learning opportunities, greater access to library resources, services, and archival collections, as well as the continual development of innovative library spaces.

Our undergraduate scholarship offers promising talents in Singapore with the opportunity to pursue full-time undergraduate studies to advance the development of our libraries and archives and also to grow domain expertise in diverse knowledge fields.

Mid-term scholarships are also available for current undergraduates who are passionate about championing NLB’s mission - to make knowledge come alive, spark imagination and create possibilities.

Scholars have the opportunity to pursue undergraduate studies in: Business, Humanities (e.g. Literature, Digital Humanities, Chinese Language etc.), Social Sciences (e.g. History, Southeast Asian Studies, Contemporary China etc.), to information science, Data Analytics, and Digital-related disciplines, etc., except very specialised fields such as Medicine, Dentistry and Law to study locally or at renowned universities overseas.
