Skills and Workforce Development Agency (SWDA)

The Skills and Workforce Development Agency (SWDA) is a new statutory board established through the merger of SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG) and Workforce Singapore (WSG), with effect from 1 July 2026.

SWDA drives lifelong learning and workforce development to enable Singaporeans to take charge of their careers, learn for life, access good jobs, and grow in fulfilling careers. We enable employers to build a skilled, future-ready workforce, design quality jobs, and adopt skills recognition practices. Together with our partners, we build a trusted, high-quality, industry-relevant, and innovative ecosystem that meets the evolving workforce needs of both businesses and workers.

Description

In October 2016, the Singapore Workforce Development Agency (WDA) went through a restructuring exercise and was reconstituted into Workforce Singapore Agency (WSG) which continues to come under the Ministry of Manpower. As part of this exercise, a new statutory board under the Ministry of Education, the SkillsFuture Singapore Agency (SSG) was also established.

SkillsFuture Singapore
At SSG, we drive and coordinate the implementation of the national SkillsFuture movement, promote a culture and holistic system of lifelong learning through the pursuit of skills mastery, and strengthen the ecosystem of quality education and training in Singapore.

Workforce Singapore
At WSG, we oversee the transformation of the local workforce and industry to meet ongoing economic challenges. We promote the development, competitiveness, inclusiveness, and employability of all levels of the workforce. This will ensure that all sectors of the economy are supported by a strong, inclusive Singaporean core.

SSG and WSG have come together to jointly offer the following Full-Term and Mid-Term Undergraduate Scholarships.

Course of Study

All Courses except Dentistry, Medicine

Bond Period

4 years (local), 5 to 6 years (overseas)

Value of Awards

Tuition, examination and other compulsory fees for the full period of study (Tuition and other compulsory fees incurred before the award will be back paid, where applicable)
Annual maintenance allowance
Sponsorship for Overseas Exchange/Summer Studies Programme
Additional allowances may apply for overseas undergraduate scholarship

Requirement/Conditions

Good academic results
Outstanding co-curricular activities records with strong leadership qualities
Not under any scholarship currently
Applicants who have interned with SSG/WSG are preferred
