Who is Eligible?

The Scholarships are open to all full-time undergraduates who are Singapore Citizens or Permanent Residents.

To apply, you need to submit your e-application by the stipulated closing date. The Student Awards Committee will decide on the Scholarship to be awarded for the selected candidates. 

Previously unsuccessful candidates need not re-apply. Candidates will be notified of the application outcome via email by end May.

The decision of the Student Awards Committee of SUSS is final and binding, and no reason will be given for the non-selection of unsuccessful candidates. No appeal will be entertained.

 

CLA Global TS Scholarship

This is a premier scheme aimed at providing high calibre students the opportunity to develop their full potential.

Who is Eligible?

  • Full-time undergraduate students enrolled in the Bachelor of Accountancy programme;
  • Singapore Citizen with good academic and co-curricular activities records, active participation in community service and possess strong language skills;
  • Possess CGPA of 4.0; and
  • Monthly household Per Capita Income (PCI) of less than S$1,000.

Tenure of Scholarship

This scholarship is to be awarded on an annual basis, and eligible students have to apply for it annually. There is no bond attached to the scholarship.

Value of Scholarship

Each award is S$5,000 and will be used to offset the recipient's tuition fees for the following academic year (2 semesters).

Foo Kon Tan LLP Scholarship

This is a premier scheme aimed at providing high calibre students the opportunity to develop their full potential.

Who is Eligible?

  • Year 1 and Year 2 Full-time undergraduate students enrolled in the Bachelor of Accountancy programme at the point of application;
  • Singapore Citizens or Permanent Residents with good academic and co-curricular activities records, active participation in community service and possess strong language skills;
  • Possess CGPA of at least 3.8; and
  • Monthly household Per Capita Income (PCI) of S$2,500 or lower. Priority will be given to students with financial difficulties.

Tenure of Scholarship

This scholarship is to be awarded on an annual basis, and eligible students have to apply for it annually. There is no bond attached to the scholarship.

Value of Scholarship

Each award is S$8,000 and will be used to offset the recipient's tuition fees for the following academic year (2 semesters).

Goh Leng Tse and Anthony Teo Scholarship

This is a premier scheme aimed at providing high calibre students the opportunity to develop their full potential.

Who is Eligible?

  • Full-time Year 2 undergraduate from the S R Nathan School of Human Development
  • Singapore Citizen with good academic and co-curricular activities records, active participation in community service, possess strong language skills, and demonstrate leadership qualities.
  • Preference will be given to students with demonstrated financial need, with monthly household Per Capita Income (PCI) of less than S$2,500.

Tenure of Scholarship

This scholarship is to be awarded on an annual basis, and eligible students have to apply for it annually. There is no bond attached to the scholarship.

Value of Scholarship

Each award is valued at S$6,000 and will be used to offset the recipient's tuition fees for the following academic year (2 semesters).

Kewalram Chanrai Group Scholarship

This is a premier scheme aimed at providing high calibre students the opportunity to develop their full potential.

Who is Eligible?

  • Full-time female undergraduate from the S R Nathan School of Human Development;
  • Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident with good academic and co-curricular activities records, active participation in community service, possess strong language skills, and demonstrate leadership qualities; and
  • Completed at least 2 semesters (1 year) of studies with at least a cumulative Grade Point Average of 4.0 at point of scholarship application.

Tenure of Scholarship

This scholarship is to be awarded on an annual basis, and eligible students have to apply for it annually. There is no bond attached to the scholarship.

Value of Scholarship

Each award is S$7,500 and will be used to offset the recipient's tuition fees for the following academic year (2 semesters).

M. Tech Scholarship

This scholarship aimed at recognising full-time Bachelor of Science in Information and Communication Technology undergraduates in the area of academic excellence and contribution to SUSS or the community.


Who is Eligible?

  • Full-time Year Two or Year Three undergraduate in the Bachelor of Science in Information and Communication Technology;
  • Singapore Citizen with good academic and co-curricular activities records, active participation in community service, possess strong language skills, and demonstrate leadership qualities;
  • Have made notable contribution to SUSS or community;
  • Preference will be given to applicants with a monthly household per capita income (PCI) of $2,500 or lower.

Tenure of Scholarship

This Scholarship is to be awarded on an annual basis, and eligible students have to apply for it annually. There is no bond attached to the scholarship.

Value of Scholarship

Each award is valued at S$7,500 and will be used to offset the recipient's tuition fees for the following academic year (2 semesters).

Mohamed Abdul Jaleel Scholarship

This is a premier scheme aimed at providing high calibre students the opportunity to develop their full potential.

Who is Eligible?

  • Full-time undergraduate from the S R Nathan School of Human Development;
  • Singapore Citizen with good academic and co-curricular activities records, active participation in community service and possess strong language skills; and
  • Monthly household Per Capita Income (PCI) of S$2,500 or lower. Priority will be given to students with financial difficulties.

Tenure of Scholarship

This scholarship is to be awarded on an annual basis, and eligible students have to apply for it annually. There is no bond attached to the scholarship.

Value of Scholarship

Each award is S$7,500 and is to be used within the following academic year (2 semesters) to offset the recipient’s tuition fees, or expenses for regional immersion programme or other educational activities organised by the SUSS, provided that the use of the scholarship fund for the regional programme/activities shall not exceed 25% of the scholarship value.

PCF Sparkletots @ Telok Blangah 44 Scholarship

This is a premier scheme aimed at providing high calibre students the opportunity to develop their full potential.

Who is Eligible?

  • Year 3 and Year 4 full-time students reading the Bachelor of Early Childhood Education with minor programme;
  • Singapore Citizens with good academic and co-curricular activities records, active participation in community service and demonstrate leadership qualities; and
  • Students receiving the MOE Higher Education Bursary (with per capita income of less than $2,500) will be given priority. 

Tenure of Scholarship

This scholarship is to be awarded on an annual basis. There is no bond attached to the scholarship.

Value of Scholarship

Each award is S$10,000 and will be used to offset the recipient's tuition fees and other study-related, learning activity expenses.

This is a premier scheme aimed at providing high calibre students the opportunity to develop their full potential.

Who is Eligible?

  • New and current SUSS full-time undergraduate pursuing the Bachelor of Social Work Programme;
  • Singapore Citizen/Permanent Resident with good academic and co-curricular activities records, active participation in community service and possess strong language skills; and
  • Monthly household Per Capita Income (PCI) of S$1,725 or lower.
  • Preference will be given to candidates who have made contributions to the school and/or community.

Tenure of Scholarship

The tenure of this scholarship is 1 academic year. Recipients may re-apply for the scholarship and renewal is on a year-to-year basis, subject to academic merit and financial need. There is no bond attached to the scholarship.

Value of Scholarship

Each award is S$10,000 and is to be used within the awarded academic year (2 semesters) to offset the recipient's tuition fees and other school-related matters.

Temasek Foundation - RKS Nachiappan Scholarship

This Scholarship supports students (and their families) from lower income backgrounds by providing annual living expenses and a family incentive component for the duration of study.

Who is Eligible?

  • Full-time undergraduates who are Singapore Citizens with good academic and co-curricular activities records, and active participation in the community.
  • Monthly household Per Capita Income (PCI) of S$1,875 or lower.

Tenure of Scholarship

The tenure of this scholarship is for one academic year. Recipients may re-apply for the scholarship and renewal is on a year-to-year basis, subject to academic merit and financial needs. There is no bond attached to the scholarship.

Value of Scholarship

For each award, student will receive S$5,000 as living allowance. A nominated family member will receive S$2,000 as family incentive.

  • International Students from ASEAN member countries: S$18,800 per year (offset against recipient’s tuition fees) with S$6,000 per year as allowance.

Yangzheng Foundation Endowed Eldercare Scholarship

This is a premier scheme aimed at providing high calibre students the opportunity to develop their full potential.

Who is Eligible?

  • Full-time undergraduate in Year Two or Year Three and with interest to work in the eldercare sector;
  • Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident with good academic and co-curricular activities records, active participation in community service, possess strong language skills, and demonstrate leadership qualities.

Tenure of Scholarship

This scholarship is to be awarded on an annual basis, and eligible students have to apply for it annually. There is no bond attached to the scholarship, but awarded recipients are required to complete a community engaged work of at least 2 months in duration at an eldercare organisation curated by the Career Development Office and the Office of Service Learning and Community Engagement.

Value of Scholarship

Each award is valued at S$7,500 and will be used to offset the recipient's tuition fees for the following academic year (2 semesters).

ASEAN Undergraduate Scholarship

The ASEAN Undergraduate Scholarship is a freshmen scholarship offered to support outstanding students from ASEAN member countries (excluding Singapore). 

Who is Eligible?

The Scholarship is open to full-time International Students (exclude law students) who are citizens of an ASEAN* member country, excluding Singapore.

You must have good academic and co-curricular activities records, active participation in community service, possess strong language skills, and demonstrate leadership qualities.

*Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam

Lee Kuan Yew-STEP Award

The Lee Kuan Yew Scholarship to Encourage Upgrading (LKY-STEP) Award was established from donations received from Mr Lee Kuan Yew through the sale proceeds of autographed editions of Volume 2 of his Memoirs. The objective of the award is to encourage skill upgrading and lifelong learning. The award will be offered to outstanding polytechnic graduates pursuing full-time undergraduate degree programmes at the Nanyang Technological University (NTU), National University of Singapore (NUS), Singapore Management University (SMU), Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD), Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS) and Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT).

SUSS is the appointed Secretariat for the LKY-STEP Award in Academic Year (AY) 2024.

15 April 2024 to 13 May 2024

Eligibility Criteria

  • Open to Polytechnic Diploma graduates who are Singapore Citizens or Permanent Residents. 
  • Must be matriculating into a full-time undergraduate degree programme in NUS/ NTU/ SMU/ SUTD/ SUSS/ SIT for AY2024. 
  • Possess outstanding academic results in local polytechnics (preferably Diploma with Merit), excellent Co-Curricular Activities records and strong leadership qualities and potential.
  • Maintain a standard of performance and conduct to the satisfaction of the University to be awarded.

Benefits of Award

  • One-time cash award of S$3,500. 
  • No bond attached to the scholarship.
  • A recipient of the scholarship is allowed to hold concurrent scholarships offered by NUS/NTU/SMU/SUTD/SUSS/SIT or other organisations.
  • Subsidised tuition fees (after MOE Tuition Grant) may be waived by the university if LKY-STEP Award holders are unsuccessful in securing a concurrent scholarship.

Application and Shortlisting Process

  • The online application for the LKY-STEP Award will open on Monday 15 April 2024.
  • Applicants are required to submit supporting documents at the uploading facility, as part of the online application.
  • Selection interviews will be held in June 2024. Only shortlisted applicants will be notified for an interview via e-mail. Please ensure that you are available to attend the interviews in order to be considered for the award/scholarship. Your application will be withdrawn if you are unable to attend any scheduled selection interview(s) without valid reason(s).
  • Applicants who are not shortlisted will not receive any e-mail communication.
  • Applicants are advised to submit their applications early. There will be no extension of the closing date, and late applications will not be accepted.
