List of Donated Scholarships (NUS)
BDS 71 Scholarship The BDS 71 Scholarship was established through the funds collected by the Dentistry Class of 1971 which amounted to $105,151 as at 1993. The scholarship is awarded to final-year dental undergraduate students based on the Third Professional BDS Examination, academic and clinical performance as well as involvement in extra-curricular activities.
C J Koh Scholarship The C J Koh Scholarship was established in 1997 by the late Mr Koh Choon Joo, a retired lawyer with a donation of $200,000. Scholarships are awarded each year to Law undergraduate students with excellent academic results.
Cecil C Smith Scholarship The Cecil C Smith Scholarship was historically administered by the then Department of Education, prior to it being transferred to Raffles College in 1940. The scholarship is now awarded to first-year undergraduate students with excellent academic results.
Daisy & Robert Pang Scholarship In 1986, the Daisy & Robert Pang Scholarship was established with donations from Mrs Daisy L Pang of a sum of $206,000 to award undergraduate students with excellent academic results.
Hong Kong & Shanghai Banking Corporation Centenary Scholarship The Hong Kong & Shanghai Banking Corporation Singapore has established and supported this scholarship throughout the years with annual donations to award Science undergraduate students with excellent academic results majoring in Life Sciences. Information Technology Management Association Scholarship In 1984, the Information Technology Management Association, formerly known as Data Processing Managers’ Association, donated a sum of $30,000 to establish this scholarship to award outstanding undergraduate students reading the Computing (Honours) programme.
Institute of Banking & Finance Scholarship The Institute of Banking & Finance established the Institute of Banking & Finance Scholarship in 1983 with a donation of $100,000. This scholarship is awarded to outstanding third-year undergraduate students reading the Business Administration course.
Jardine Cycle & Carriage Scholarship Jardine Cycle & Carriage Scholarship is supported by Jardine Cycle & Carriage Limited and was established in 2019. The scholarship will support Singaporean undergraduate students enrolled in any course of study at the University, except for students reading Dentistry and Medicine courses. The Scholarships shall be awarded to students with outstanding academic results. Each scholarship will have a tenure of four (4) years.
John Anderson Scholarship The John Anderson Scholarship was established in 1928 in memory of the late Sir John Anderson, Kt, with a donation by his widow Dame Winifred Ethel Dunbar Anderson to Raffles College. The scholarship is awarded to first-year undergraduate students with excellent academic results.
Koh Yen Bock Scholarship The late Mr Koh Yen Bock donated a sum of $100,000 in 1976 to establish the Koh Yen Bok Scholarship to award students with excellent academic results.
Kwan Im Thong Hood Cho Temple Scholarship The Kwan Im Thong Hood Cho Temple has donated $900,000 as of 1987 to establish and support the Kwan Im Thong Hood Cho Temple Scholarship. The scholarship is awarded to undergraduate students with excellent academic results.
LBKM Future Economy Scholarship The LBKM Future Economy Scholarship was established in 2021 with a pledge donation of $300,000 from Lembaga Biasiswa Kenangan Maulud (LBKM). The scholarship is awarded to outstanding Singaporean Malay undergraduate students from the School of Computing.
Leslie Wong Memorial Scholarship Friends of the former Visiting Professor Leslie CJ Wong established the Leslie Wong Memorial Scholarship with a donation of $30,000 to award outstanding 2nd year Business Administrative undergraduate students.
Lim Boon Keng Scholarship The Lim Boon Keng Scholarship was established from part of the proceeds of the estate of the late Dr Lim Boon Keng donated in 1973 and from donations from his daughter, Mrs Ena Teh since 1975. The scholarship was first awarded in the academic year 1977/78 to 2nd Year medical undergraduate students.
Mabel and Soon Siew Kwa Scholarship The Mabel and Soon Siew Kwa Scholarship was established in 2016 by Associate Professor Kwa Chong Guan and Ms Kwa Kim Hwa in memory of their parents. This scholarship is awarded to outstanding needy undergraduate students, with preference for students from the Faculty of Arts & Social Sciences, School of Business and Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music, for the duration of their study in NUS.
Max Lewis Scholarship The Max Lewis Scholarship was established in 1994 with an initial donated sum of $30,000 from the Max Lewis Trust Fund created by the late Mrs Lewis. This scholarship is awarded to outstanding undergraduate students.
MILK-Ian Peter Windle Scholarship The MILK-Ian Peter Windle Scholarship was established by the Community Foundation of Singapore (CFS) made on behalf of their donor, the Mainly I Love Kids (MILK) Fund, with a donation of $1,533,000. The scholarship is awarded to needy undergraduate students with excellent academic results from Academic Year 2013/14.
NUS Alumni & Friends Scholarship Hi-P International Limited, Orchard Maritime Services Pte Ltd as well as the estate of the late Quah Poh Lian donated $63,000 in 2007 to establish the NUS Alumni & Friends Scholarship to award undergraduate students with excellent academic results.
Ooi Jin Bee Scholarship The Singapore Journal of Tropical Geography donated a sum of $100,000 in 1991 to establish a scholarship to award outstanding undergraduate students reading the honours course in Geography. In honour of Professor Ooi Jin Bee's long and successful association with the Journal, the scholarship was named the Ooi Jin Bee Scholarship.
Petrochemical Corporation of Singapore Scholarship The Petrochemical Corporation of Singapore (Pte) Ltd established this scholarship in 1991/92 to award outstanding undergraduate students majoring in Chemical Engineering annually.
Dentons Rodyk ScholarshipThe Dentons Rodyk Scholarship was established in 1987 by Messrs Rodyk & Davidson with an initial donation of $100,000. Scholarships are awarded each year to outstanding 4th year law undergraduate students with the aim to promote legal education in Singapore as well as a gesture of gratitude to the University who has trained many of Rodyk & Davidson's partners and solicitors.
Shaw Foundation Scholarship The Shaw Foundation Scholarship was established with an initial donation of $30,000 by the Shaw Foundation in 1987. The Foundation has been awarding 10 scholarships every year since its establishment to undergraduate students with excellent academic results.
Singapore Turf Club Scholarship The Singapore Turf Club donated two scholarships in 1963 and another scholarship in 1965 which were subsequently withdrawn in 1968. With funds left from these scholarships, the Singapore Turf Club agreed to set aside $100,000 to establish the Singapore Turf Club Scholarship and Bursary in 1982. The scholarship is awarded to undergraduate students with excellent academic results.
Sir Ong Siang Song Trust Scholarship The Sir Ong Siang Song Trust Scholarship was established by a donation by Lady Helen Song in memory of Sir Ong Siang Song. The scholarship is awarded to undergraduate students with excellent academic results.
Shook Lin & Bok LLP Scholarship The Shook Lin & Bok LLP Scholarship was established in 1989 by Shook Lin & Bok LLP with an initial donated sum of $30,000. Two scholarships are awarded each year to 2nd and 3rd year Law undergraduate students based on excellent academic results.
Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation Scholarship The Sakura Bank (formerly known as the Mitsui Bank) donated an initial sum of $100,000 in 1973 and subsequently increased their donations to $337,500 over the years to establish the Sakura Bank Scholarship. It was renamed as Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation Scholarship in 2001 due to the merger of Sakura Bank with Sumitomo Banking Corporation. The scholarship is awarded to undergraduate students reading honours course in the Faculty of Science and Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences.
Tan Jiak Chuan Scholarship The Tan Jiak Chuan Scholarship was established by a gift bequeathed by the late Mr Tan Jiak Chuan. It was historically administered by the then Department of Education, prior to it being transferred to Raffles College in 1940. The scholarship is now awarded to first-year undergraduate students with excellent academic results.
Tan Lark Sye Scholarship/Bursary The Aik Hoe Group of Companies donated approximately $1,012,300 to establish the Tan Lark Sye Scholarship and Bursary. The scholarship is awarded to undergraduate students with excellent academic results.
Tan Siak Kew Scholarship/Bursary The Tan Siak Kew Scholarship/Bursary was established in 1979 with donations of $275,000 from T.S.K. Investment Co (Pte) Ltd. The scholarship is awarded to undergraduate students with excellent academic results.
Tan Teck Chwee Scholarship Jurong Shipyard Ltd and Jurong Engineering Pte Ltd jointly donated a sum of $100,000 in 1988 to establish this scholarship in memory of their past Chairman, Mr Tan Teck Chwee who also served as the Chairman of the Public Service Commission. This scholarship awards outstanding undergraduates enrolled in the Civil Engineering course.
Tham Kai Shui Excelsior Scholarship The Tham Kai Shui Excelsior Scholarship was established in 2019 with a donation of $150,000 by Dr Tham Kah Poh in memory of her late father, Mr Tham Kai Shui, and his tailoring business, Excelsior Tailor. The scholarship is awarded to outstanding undergraduate students.
Toyota Scholarship The Toyota Scholarship was established in 2013 by Toyota Motor Asia Pacific Pte Ltd with a pledged donation of $300,000. The scholarship is awarded to outstanding undergraduate students from the Faculty of Engineering and the School of Design and Environment from the Academic Year 2014/15.
Wee Cho Yaw Future Leaders Award The Wee Cho Yaw Future Leaders Award was established in 2016 by the United Overseas Bank Limited with a donation of $10 million. The scholarship will support financially needy first-year undergraduate students with outstanding academic results.
Wee Kheng Chiang Memorial Scholarship The Wee Kheng Chiang Memorial Scholarship was established with donations of $500,000 from the family and friends of the late Datuk Wee Kheng Chiang. Since 1979, the scholarship has been awarded to undergraduates with excellent academic results.
Yong Fong Lim & Wong Yok Hin Scholarship The Yong Fong Lim & Wong Yok Hin Scholarship was set up in memory of the donor’s late parents. This scholarship is awarded to full-time undergraduate students with excellent academic results.
