Yayasan MENDAKI (“MENDAKI”) (Council for the Development of the Singapore Malay/Muslim Community) is a Self-Help Group and was set up in 1982 to uplift the academic performance of the Malay/Muslim community in Singapore through education and lifelong learning.

Its programmes assist students, families, workers, and individuals at various stages of life with their education, learning, and training needs. MENDAKI’s strategies include:

Empowering parents as the child’s first teacher, nurturer, and partner;
Preparing children and youth to be resilient and future-ready;
Empowering workers to be enterprising, connected, adaptable, and lifelong learner; and
Enhancing its organisational capacity to achieve excellence.

Description

The scholarship was introduced in December 2016. The objective of the scholarship is to encourage students to continue to do well in their studies at the ITE and progress to Higher NITEC, Polytechnic and University.

One scholarship is available to First Year NITEC/Higher NITEC students
Each Scholarship worth S$3,500 per annum and is intended to cover tuition fee and living expenses

Requirement/Conditions

Muslim students pursuing first-year studies in a full-time National ITE Certificate (NITEC) or Higher NITEC
The preferred courses for the scholarship but not limited to include Information Technology, Cloud Computing, Security Technology, Cyber & Network Security, Computer & Networking, Interactive Design, Community Care & Social Services, Nursing.
